Resurrection People

EmptyTomb300h
When I was a kid my favorite holiday was Christmas, hands down! Now don't over spiritualize that, I loved Christmas for the presents. There was nothing better in life than waking up on Christmas morning and spending time with family and ripping into the presents and then spending the coming days playing with the new stuff. As I look back on things however, the reality was that I would spend a few days, or maybe a few weeks playing with the new toys and then before I knew it - there was something else grappling for my attention and it wasn't long before Christmas became more than a memory.

As I have gotten older, my tastes have change. I accepted Christ into my life when I was 14 years old and so very many things changed for me. One of those changes came in the form of my favorite holiday. As I learned more about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross I quickly fell in love with Easter. Still to this day I would say that Easter is now my favorite holiday. My struggle though remains much the same as when I was a child in love with presents. If I am not careful (and intentional) Easter quickly slips away and becomes only an annual memory. God doesn't call us to celebrate Easter once a year and be done with it, rather I believe that He has called us to be Resurrection People everyday of our lives. When we finally come to a place where Easter is more than an annual holiday, God can really begin to awake some great things in us.

My prayer for all of you is that you would have a tremendous Easter celebration this year, and that through the working of the Holy Spirit - that your whole year would filter through the love shown to us on the cross!

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear from you.

Blessings,
Ffej
